Maizee was born on 4th October 2003, her mother is DOTCOM EMINA MINX and her father is
ANGMARS WARLOCK. She appeared in every way to be a normal kitten, and very beautiful, in fact I received endless mails and telephone calls from people wishing to purchase her. But at the age of 3 Weeks and 6 Days, on a Friday evening, Maizee became very ill, it was extremely sudden and we just knew she was a very sick kitten. She was rushed to our vet and after X- Rays, and examination it was decided to operate on her immediately, she had a suspected intestinal torsion (twisted gut). She was given a 50% chance of surviving the anaesetic and it was a very tense time for everyone concerned. But she is a fighter, and she came around from the surgery, she stayed in hospital overnight and until lunchtime on Saturday on a drip, then she came home, unfortunately she was not feeling strong enough to suckle on her mum Minx, and she was unable to keep anything down in her tummy, so for the next 36 hours she was given 0.5ml of water every 20 minutes, progressing onto Lectade and then a small amount of watered down Cimicat (special kitten milk), but on Sunday night she was violently sick again and she was taken back to the vets, there she was given two injections, and after returning home and having a sleep she woke up and screamed for her mum, we put her with Minx and she started to suckle, we couldn't believe it and from that moment she has not looked back. Although she lost an enormous amount of body weight, which was to be expected, she is now gaining weight, eating solids and behaving just like her brothers and sister, all be it she is a bit smaller than them now. She has a long scar the length of her tummy, but she had her stiches out after 10 days and we all hope she will continue to make a good recovery. She is such a bold outgoing kitten, and, of course, she is staying here with us, there is no way after all we have been through that she will be leaving us.
On January 20th 2004 Maizee had to have another operation because she had quite a large lump
under her tummy, along her scar line, which was getting bigger as she grew, it turned out to be a small hernia and has now been repaired and she is recovering well, although she has to be on her own to make sure she doesn't overdo it and the other kittens don't hurt her while she has stitches in, so we have bought her lots of special toys to play with as she wants to get out of her playpen and play with the rest of the gang, her favourite toy is a toy mouse that squeaks when she moves it and all the other kittens are very jealous ot it.
Maizee is now nearly 6 months old and is just like any other normal kitten, well maybe just that
bit more adorable because of her special little ways, she always does a little dance for me in the morning when I get up and sleeps all night by my pillow purring very loudly. We hope that now she will continue to grow well and maybe later this year we will take her out to her first show, but for the moment we will just enjoy her at home. |

Maizee had a lovely litter
of two kittens with Lachtetals S Maiky in July 2005, we have kept her little girl Zafirah. Maizee has grown into a beautiful big girl now and she is still very special to us. We look forward to her having more kittens in 2006. |
